What is Muesli and how is it different from granola?

Michele's Apple Cinnamon Toasted Muesli, Michele's Toasted Muesli - no refined sugar or oil

Have you discovered our Toasted Muesli? Pronounced "myoos-lee" or "myooz-lee," this special--and especially delicious--cereal is a wonderful addition to healthy meals and snacks!

What is granola?

Granola is a classic baked breakfast cereal made with a combination of oats, nuts, seeds and a sweetener, often including dried fruit, and usually including a source of fat to create a crispy texture.

What is muesli?

Muesli contains many of the same ingredients as granola, including oats, nuts, seeds and fruit. But muesli is a loose cereal, traditionally raw, without sweeteners or added fat to create a crisp texture. It's often prepared by soaking overnight in milk or juice and eating for breakfast.

What's in it?

Our classic Toasted Muesli contains many of the same ingredients that you love in our granola: Organic oats and coconut, plus a variety of nutritious seeds and nuts, along with dried fruit. And like all of our products, our Muesli is free of wheat, dairy (it's certified vegan), eggs, soy, peanuts and GMO ingredients.

What's the difference between muesli and granola?

How is our Toasted Muesli different than our granola? Glad you asked!

  • Where our granola is known for its chunks, Muesli is a loose cereal
  • Our granola is sweetened with organic brown sugar, where our Muesli contains no refined sugar. It's very lightly sweetened with Maryland maple syrup
  • Granola is baked with canola oil, where our Muesli contains no added oils.

While traditional muesli is a raw mix of ingredients, ours is gently toasted, making it more flavorful. Toasting our oats also means that you can enjoy the cereal right out of the bag!

How does one eat Muesli?

There are so many tasty ways to enjoy muesli...

  • Enjoy as a cereal with your favorite milk or yogurt
  • Soak it overnight in milk and top with fruit before eating
  • Top your oatmeal with our Toasted Muesli
  • Top your chia pudding with it (try Michele's recipe for Overnight Maple Cinnamon Chia Pudding)
  • Generously sprinkle on your green salad for a crunch and added nutrition.

We hope you'll give both varieties of Michele's Toasted Muesli a try!

This granola is the best! I go to Moms Organic every week just to buy the Almond Butter. The cinnamon Raisin and the seasonal Granola's are always a hit. The only issue I have is that I end up eating the entire bag.

The flavoris of this muesli definately benefits from tosating. The flavor is great, it has no sodium, or cholesterol and just enough sugar. It's not often that you can enjoy a healthy food that actually taste good where all of the ingredients are real food. Give it a try Very affordable in my opinion
